The GDZ system is user-friendly and highly versatile. The hinged component is mounted and sealed next to the opening to be protected. In its resting position, the barrier stands upright next to the opening and is secured against accidental closure. In case of flooding, the barrier is unlocked, closed, and locked into the tension mechanism. The pressure from the tension lever ensures a secure seal. Gas pressure dampers compensate for the weight of the barrier, making even large systems easy to operate.
The side and hinged components are made of galvanized steel, while the barrier itself consists of aluminum profiles. A highly adaptable special seal ensures the barrier is sealed against the ground. This seal is resistant to aging and chemicals. GDZ systems are most commonly used in areas that need to remain unobstructed but can be quickly sealed during flood events.
When GDZ systems are installed outdoors or in passages that are not continuously monitored, the locking levers can also be made lockable for added security.
